I am a mother of a 1 year
old baby girl. I have been married
for 2 years and I am an advocate of the "stay at home mom." We live in culture
that believes the role of mother is reserved for women who are not
"smart" or "ambitious" enough to get a good job.
Since the role of mom is not glorified by the media, we no longer find satisfaction in raising the kids God gave us; instead we pass our job onto those who can't love our kids like their mama can. My goal, with this website, is to show women easy ways to save money so they can have the option to raise their little ones. I have found that by making meals at home and by not buying formula, diapers, baby food, and child care that I am able to easily replace any income I would make in a job outside the home, which makes it possible for me to stay home! Even if you could make a 6-figure income outside of the home, I'm sure your investment in your children will be worth more to you and them in the long run. I believe it is biblical for women to make this investment in their families. Note the following scriptures: Titus 2:4, which urges women to love their husbands, love their children and be homemakers. Proverbs 31, which describes a virtuous woman, who is dedicated to keeping watch for her household and is resourceful, hardworking and generous. It is a perfect portrait of what God created women to be! It is beautiful and blessed! Have you noticed the blurred gender roles in our society? Men and women are equal, so therefore, they should take part in the exact same activities and have no distinction between their roles. This is what they want us to believe, and where has it taken us? The divorce rate is higher than ever and the American family is falling apart. Feminism is robbing women of their greatest right and most wonderful gift. Who put it in our heads that we are worthless if we put our creativity, energy and effort back into our families instead of the business world? When did we start believing the lie that the position of mother is not enough? I hope women can see the awesome gift God gives us when He gives us a family. I pray the same for me that I never take this position God has blessed me with for granted! |
